Thermostat: Service and Repair
Removal

2GR-FE COOLING: THERMOSTAT:

REMOVAL

1. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT
2. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (See: Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Removal)

3. REMOVE FRONT FENDER APRON SEAL RH
4. REMOVE NO. 2 ENGINE MOUNTING STAY RH (See: Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Removal)

5. REMOVE ENGINE MOVING CONTROL ROD SUB-ASSEMBLY (See: Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Removal)

6. REMOVE V-RIBBED BELT (See: Engine/Drive Belts, Mounts, Brackets and Accessories/Drive Belt/Service and Repair/Removal)

7. REMOVE NO. 2 IDLER PULLEY SUB-ASSEMBLY (See: Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Removal)

8. DISCONNECT RADIATOR HOSE OUTLET (See: Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Removal)

9. REMOVE WATER INLET

(a) Remove the 2 nuts and water inlet.

10. REMOVE THERMOSTAT

(a) Remove the gasket from the thermostat.
