Ignition Coil: Service and Repair
Removal

2GR-FE IGNITION: IGNITION COIL:

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
2. DRAIN ENGINE COOLANT (See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Cooling System/Coolant/Testing and Inspection)

3. REMOVE WINDSHIELD WIPER LINK ASSEMBLY

 (See: Wiper and Washer Systems/Wiper Motor/Service and Repair/Removal)

4. REMOVE COWL TOP PANEL OUTER SUB-ASSEMBLY (See: Knock Sensor/Service and Repair/Removal)

5. REMOVE V-BANK COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY (See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and

Replacement/Removal)

6. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY (See: Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Throttle Body/Service and Repair/Removal)

7. REMOVE INTAKE AIR SURGE TANK ASSEMBLY (See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and

Replacement/Removal)

8. REMOVE NO. 1 SURGE TANK STAY

(a) Remove the bolt and disconnect the harness clamp.

(b) Remove the bolt and No. 1 surge tank stay.

9. REMOVE IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the 6 ignition coil connectors.
(b) Remove the 6 bolts and 6 ignition coils.
