Transmission Position Switch/Sensor: Service and Repair
Removal

U660E AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE: PARK / NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH:

REMOVAL

1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
2. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL (See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and

Replacement/Removal)

3. REMOVE AIR CLEANER INLET ASSEMBLY (See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and

Replacement/Removal)

4. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY (See: Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Throttle Body/Service and

Repair/Removal)

5. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE SUB-ASSEMBLY (See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and

Replacement/Removal)

6. REMOVE NO. 1 AIR CLEANER INLET (See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Removal)

7. REMOVE AIR CLEANER BRACKET

(a) Separate the wire harness clamp.
(b) Remove the 3 bolts and air cleaner bracket.

8. REMOVE PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the clip from the transmission cable bracket.

(b) Remove the nut and transmission control cable from the control shaft lever.
(c) Disconnect the connector from the park/neutral position switch.

(d) Remove the nut, washer and control shaft lever from the control shaft.
