Air Bag Control Module: Service and Repair
Airbag Sensor Assembly

REPLACEMENT 

1. PRECAUTION
2. DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE TERMINAL
3. REMOVE CONSOLE PANEL UPPER REAR 
4. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX CARPET 
5. REMOVE RR CONSOLE BOX
6. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL CUP HOLDER TRAY (W/O ASHTRAY) 
7. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL ASH RECEPTACLE ASSY (W/ ASHTRAY)
8. REMOVE CONSOLE PANEL UPPER 
9. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX FRONT 

10. REMOVE AIR DUCT REAR NO.1 
11. REMOVE AIR DUCT REAR NO.2 
12. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX DUCT NO.1 (AUTO AIR CONDITIONER) 

13. REMOVE AIR BAG SENSOR ASSY CENTER

a. Disconnect the 3 connectors from the air bag sensor assy center.
b. Remove the 3 bolts and air bag sensor assy center.

14. INSPECT AIR BAG SENSOR ASSY CENTER 
15. INSTALL AIR BAG SENSOR ASSY CENTER

a. Check that the ignition switch turn OFF.
b. Check that the battery negative terminal is disconnected.

NOTE:  Do not start the operation for 90 seconds after removing the terminal.

c. Temporarily install the air bag sensor assy center with the 3 bolts.
d. Tighten the 3 bolts to the specified torque.

Torque: 17.5 N.m (178 kgf.cm, 13 ft.lbf) 

e. Connect the connector to the air bag sensor assy center.
f.

Check that no play is identified.

g. Check that the water-proof sheet is properly set.

16. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
