Thermal Vacuum Valve - EVAP: Testing and Inspection
Evaporative TVV Test
1.
Drain coolant from radiator into a suitable container.
2.
Remove the TVV from the water by-pass outlet.
3.
Cool TVV to below 95°F (35°C) with cool water.
4.
Blow air into a port, ensure the valve is closed and does not pass air.
5.
Heat TVV to above 129°F (54°C) with hot water.
6.
Blow air into a port, ensure the valve is open and air passes freely through valve.
7.
Apply adhesive to threads of the TVV and reinstall.
Torque Value:
22 ft.lb (29 Nm)
8.
Refill cooling system and inspect for leaks.
