Vacuum Switching Valve for Fuel Pressure Control: Testing and Inspection
INSPECTION
1. REMOVE VACUUM SWITCHING VALVE (VSV) FOR FUEL PRESSURE CONTROL.
a. Disconnect the following connectors and hoses:
1. VSV for Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) (A) connector.
2. VSV for fuel pressure control (B) connector.
3. Vacuum hose (from EGR Valve) from port E of VSV for EGR (A).
4. Vacuum hose (from port "Q" of EGR Vacuum Modulator) from port G of VSV for EGR (A).
5. Vacuum hose (from Fuel Pressure Regulator) from port E of VSV for fuel pressure control (B).
6. Vacuum hose (from Air Intake Chamber) from port G of VSV for fuel pressure control (B).
b. Remove the bolt and VSV for fuel pressure control assembly.
2. INSPECT VSV FOR FUEL PRESSURE CONTROL FOR OPEN CIRCUIT.
-
Using an ohmmeter, check that there is continuity between the terminals.
Resistance (Cold): 33 - 39 Ohms
-
If there is no continuity, replace the VSV for fuel pressure control.
3. INSPECT VSV FOR FUEL PRESSURE CONTROL FOR GROUND.
-
Using an ohmmeter, check that there is no continuity between each terminal and the body.
-
If there is continuity, replace the VSV for fuel pressure control.
4. INSPECT VSV FOR FUEL PRESSURE CONTROL OPERATION.
