Thermal Vacuum Valve - EVAP: Testing and Inspection

PROCEDURE

1. Drain coolant from radiator into a suitable container.
2. Remove the Thermal Vacuum Valve (TVV) from the intake manifold.

3. Cool TVV to below 40°C 104°F) with cool water.
4. Check that air does not flow from the upper port to the lower port.

5. Heat TVV to above 59°C (138°F) with hot water.
6. Check that air flows freely from the upper port to the lower port. If operation is not as specified, replace the TVV.

7. Apply adhesive to threads of the TVV and reinstall.

Torque Value:  30 Nm (22 ft.lb)

8. Refill cooling system and inspect for leaks.
