Introduction
Under certain conditions, some 2000 model year Camry and Solara vehicles with CA Specification, 5S-FE engine and automatic transmission may
exhibit M.I.L. "ON" with DTC P0136 (Sub-02 Sensor Malfunction). The Engine Control Module (ECM) logic has been modified to correct this
condition.

Applicable Vehicles

2000 model year CA Specification 5-FE AT Camry and Solara vehicles.

Repair Procedure

Should a M.I.L. "ON" condition with DTC P0136 be encountered, perform diagnostic Procedure procedures as described in the Repair Manual.

If the problem source cannot be identified after checking all affected areas according to the Repair Manual, the cause may be an ECM logic
malfunction. In this case, replace the ECM with the updated part.

Applicable Warranty*:
This repair is covered under the * Federal Emissions Warranty*. This warranty is in effect for * 96 months * or * 80,000 miles,* whichever occurs first,
from the vehicle's in-service date.

* Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem based upon a customer's specific complaint.
