Fluid - A/T: Testing and Inspection
1.
Operate vehicle, allow transaxle fluid temperature to reach 158-176°F.
2.
Position vehicle on level surface, apply parking brake.
3.
With engine at idle, move shift lever through all positions.
4.
Remove transaxle dipstick, wipe clean, then replace.
5.
Remove dipstick again, then check fluid level in HOT range.
6.
On 1989-90 A140E models, dry fill capacity is 5.6 US quarts.
7.
On 1989-90 A140L models, dry fill capacity is 6.0 US quarts.
8.
On 1991-93 models, dry fill capacity is 5.9 US quarts.
