Fluid - A/T: Service and Repair

TRANSAXLE FLUID REPLACEMENT 

NOTICE: Do not overfill.

-

Using SST, remove the drain plug, the gasket and drain the fluid.

-

Using SST, install a new gasket and the drain plug securely.

SST 09043-38100 

-

Add new fluid through the filler tube.

Fluid type: ATF DEXRON II 

Capacity:

Dry fill: 6.5 liters (6.9 US qts, 5.7 Imp. qts) 
Drain and refill: 3.1 liters (3.3 US qts, 2.7 Imp. qts) 

-

Start the engine and shift the selector into all positions from P through L and then shift into P.

-

With the engine idling, check the fluid level. Add fluid up to the COOL level on the dipstick.

-

Check the fluid level with the normal fluid temperature (70 - 80°C or 158 - 176°F) and add as necessary.

-

Perform the road test.

-

Recheck the fluid level and add as necessary.

DIFFERENTIAL FLUID REPLACEMENT 

-

Using SST, remove the drain plug, the gasket and drain the fluid.

-

Using SST, install a new gasket and the~drain plug securely.

Remove the filler plug.
