Remove the cooling fan relay (condenser fan control amplifier).

(1)

Remove the securing screw from the bracket which holds the cooling fan relay and the compressor control amplifier.

(2)

Unplug the cooling fan relay connector.

Replace the cooling fan relay with the new one and reconnect the connector.

6.

Reinstall the glove box ensuring that the glove box door is properly aligned with the edges of the dashboard opening.

Post Inspection

1.

Start the engine and make sure that the A/C control switch is off.

^ After the engine is warmed up, make sure that the engine cooling fan operates at low speed.

If the engine coolant temperature is high, for example, when the engine has been shut off for a short period during hot weather, the
engine cooling fan may run at high speed after the engine is first started. In this case, make sure that the engine cooling fan speed
automatically switches from high to low when the coolant temperature is reduced.

Completion Label

After completing inspection and repair and before returning the vehicle to the customer, an SSC completion label must be affixed to the engine
cowl next to the factory I.D. plate.

The label is to be filled out as follows:

This notice is being sent to you in the interest of continued satisfaction with your Toyota. Our records indicate that your vehicle is involved in this
campaign.

Toyota has determined that the electric engine cooling fan could operate abnormally at a continued high speed on 1988 Camry models equipped with a
V6 engine. The continuous high speed fan noise may, under some circumstances, be audible and annoying to some customers. Toyota will modify the
engine cooling fan operation at no cost to you.
