Camry Wagon V6-2507cc 2.5L DOHC (2VZ-FE) (1988)
Valve clearance is adjusted through the use of shims. Shims are available in increments of .0020 inch.
Valve clearance on cold engines should be .005-.009 inch, intake and .011-.015 inch exhaust.
1.
With engine cold, turn crankshaft pulley and align its groove with the timing mark ``0'' of the No. 1 timing belt cover. In this position the No. 1
cylinder is at TDC of compression stroke.
2.
Ensure intake valves on the No. 1 cylinder are loose and exhaust valves on the No. 1 cylinder are tight. If not turn the crankshaft one complete
revolution (360°) and align the timing marks.
3.
Using a feeler gauge, measure clearance between the valve lifter and camshaft. Record the valve clearance measurements which are not to
specification.
