Introduction
TMMK has made a production change to improve the performance of the fold down rear seat lock release. In some cases, the lock release knob may be
adjusted too low.

Applicable Warranty:
This repair is covered under the Toyota Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from
the vehicle's in-service date.
Repair Procedures
Proper lock release operation on potentially affected vehicles should be inspected by pulling on the lock release knobs and folding the seats forward.
If the lock release operation is inadequate and the vehicle is within the applicable VIN range, perform the following procedure.
1.
Pre-cut 2 pieces of 16 or 18 gauge electrical wire to 18 mm length.
2.
Remove both rear seat lock release knobs by rotating the knobs counterclockwise.
3.
Insert 1 pre-cut wire piece into each knob and reinstall.
NOTE:
Make sure that the pre-cut wire pieces have no sharp edges. This will prevent stress marks on the tops of the knobs.
