Engine - Interior Drone/Instrument Panel Vibration/Buzz

TITLE - INTERIOR DRONE AND INSTRUMENT PANEL VIBRATION

Some 1986 and 1987 Celica's may experience an interior drone noise at high engine RPM ranges (4,600 - 6,000 rpm). The drone noise may be
accompanied by a vibration or buzzing in the instrument panel area. To reduce the drone and instrument panel vibration the following modifications
should be made:

Replace the rubber supports and the catalytic converter support brackets with the following new or field fix parts:

*Use Part Number 17565-63060 for field fix to further reduce noises.

On Celicas equipped with the 3S-GE engine the catalytic converter upper support bracket bar has been shortened by 10 mm to accommodate a
narrower rubber support (April 1986). The support bracket bar also changed from a solid type to a pipe type (June 1986).
