Oil Pan: Service and Repair
Installation
1.
Remove all old packing material and be careful not to drop any oil on the contacting surfaces of the oil pan and cylinder block.

Using a razor blade and gasket scraper, remove all the packing (FIPG) material from the gasket surfaces.

Thoroughly clean all components to remove all of the loose material.
^
Clean both sealing surfaces with a non-residue solvent.
NOTE:Do not use a solvent which will affect painted surfaces.
Oil Pan Sealer Application
2.
Apply sealer to the oil pan gasket as shown in the figure.

Parts must be assembled within 5 minutes of application. Otherwise, the material must be removed and re-applied. Immediately remove nozzle
from tube and reinstall cap.
3.
Install the oil pan over the studs on the block with the 15 bolts and 3 nuts. Torque the bolts and nuts to 60 kg-cm (52 in lb).
4.
Lower the engine and install the engine mount bolts.
5.
Install the engine shock absorber.
6.
Install the engine undercover.
7.
Allow sealant to dry for 30 minutes before adding oil to the crankcase.
