1.
Raise rear of vehicle and support with jackstands positioned at frame members.
2.
Remove brake hose clips on rear suspension arm, Fig. 4.
3.
Disconnect stabilizer bar end, then remove nuts securing driveshaft and remove driveshaft.
4.
Position a suitable jack under suspension arm and raise suspension arm slightly.
5.
Remove rear shock absorber lower mounting bolt and disconnect shock absorber.
6.
Slowly lower jack under suspension arm ensuring brake hose and parking brake cable are not stretched or twisted.
7.
Remove coil spring and insulators from vehicle.
8.
Reverse procedure to install. Torque shock absorber lower mount to 22-32 ft. lbs., torque stabilizer bar end to 11-15 ft. lbs. and torque driveshaft
mounting nuts to 44-57 ft. lbs.
Coil Spring
REAR WHEEL DRIVE & 4 WHEEL DRIVE MODELS
1.
Raise rear of vehicle and support rear axle housing on stands.

Disconnect shock absorber from lower mounting, Figs. 8 then the control rod from axle housing.
3.
If equipped with rear stabilizer, remove bolts securing stabilizer bar to rear housing.
4.
Lower jack until spring tension is relieved, then remove coil spring with insulator.
5.
Reverse procedure to install.
