Shift Cable: Adjustments
THROTTLE CABLE
1.
Remove air cleaner, then push connecting rod to check if throttle valve opens completely. If not, correct by the adjusting link.
2.
To adjust throttle cable, loosen the adjustment nuts enough so that cable housing can be adjusted.
3.
Fully depress accelerator pedal to open throttle valve, then adjust cable housing so that distance between end of housing and stopper collar is
0-0.04 inch.
4.
Tighten the adjustment nuts and recheck adjustment.
SHIFT LINKAGE
1.
Check linkage for freedom of operation.
2.
Loosen adjustment nut on linkage, then push manual valve lever fully toward front of vehicle.
3.
Return manual valve lever three detent positions which is Neutral.
4.
While an assistant holds the selector lever inside vehicle in Neutral, tighten the nut securely.
5.
Check transmission operation in all ranges.
