Vacuum Switching Valve (VSV) for EGR: Description and Operation

EGR System And Operations

The ECU controls the overall operation of the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) System by opening and closing the vacuum switching valve (VSV).
The ECU senses coolant temperature, engine rpm, vehicle speed and throttle valve operation to ground the VSV and allow engine vacuum to determine
EGR Valve operation.  The VSV inputs the ECU through terminal EGR.  Refer to EMISSION CONTROLS for additional information on the EGR
System.
