Governor: Service and Repair
Removal
1.
On A131L models, remove transaxle dust cover, then the LH driveshaft.
2.
On A240E, A241E and A240L models, disconnect speedometer cable.
3.
On A241H models, remove air cleaner cover and hose.
4.
On all models, remove governor cover, then the O-ring.
5.
Remove governor body with thrust washer.
6.
On A131L models, remove washer, then the governor body adapter.
7.
On A241H models, remove governor body adapter with gasket, then governor oil strainer.
8.
On A240E, A241E and A240L models, remove gasket.
Installation
1.
On A240E, A241E and A240L models, install new gasket on governor body adapter.
2.
On all models, install governor body adapter.
3.
On A131L models, install washer on governor body.
4.
On A240E, A241E and A240L models, install governor body with thrust washer.
5.
On A241H models, install governor body adapter with gasket, then governor oil strainer.
6.
On all models, install governor cover with O-ring.
7.
On A241H models, install air cleaner cover and hose.
8.
On A240E, A241E, A240L and A241H models, connect speedometer cable.
9.
On A131L models, install LH driveshaft, then the transaxle dust cover.
10.
On all models, ensure transaxle fluid level is to specifications, then road test vehicle.
