Throttle Body: Testing and Inspection
2S-E, 3S-FE and 3S-GE Engines
1.
Operate throttle linkage through full range, ensuring that throttle does not bind or stick.
2.
Start engine and allow to idle, then using finger, check for vacuum at ports E, R and P of throttle body.
3.
Increase engine speed to 3000 RPM and again check for vacuum at ports E, R and P of throttle body.
4.
No vacuum should be present at ports during idle and vacuum should be present at ports P and E at 3000 RPM. No vacuum should be present at
port R at 3000 RPM.
5.
If throttle body does not perform as outlined, remove throttle body and repair or replace as necessary.
