Fluid - A/T: Service and Repair
Fluid Level Check
On all units, except A241H, use DEXRON II transaxle fluid. On A241H units, use ATF Type T or equivalent transaxle fluid.
1.
Start engine, allow transaxle fluid to reach 158-176°F.
2.
Position vehicle on level surface, then set parking brake.
3.
With engine idling, brake pedal depressed, move shift lever through all positions.
4.
Remove transaxle dipstick, wipe clean, then replace.
5.
Remove dipstick again, check fluid at HOT level.
6.
On A131L units, dry fill capacity is 5.8 US quarts.
7.
On A240E units, dry fill capacity is 8.4 US quarts.
8.
On A241E and A241L units, dry fill capacity is 8.5 US quarts.
9.
On A240L and A244E units, dry fill capacity is 7.6 US quarts.
10.
On A243L units, dry fill capacity is 8.1 US quarts.
11.
On A241H units, dry fill capacity is 8.7 US quarts.
