Alignment: Service and Repair
Preliminary Check

Front

Inspect the following prior to adjusting wheel alignment.

1.

Check tires for wear and proper inflation pressure.

2.

Check wheel runout. Correct runout is .039 inch.

3.

Check front wheel bearings, front suspension, steering linkage and ball joints for wear or looseness.

4.

Ensure front shock absorbers are functioning properly.

Rear

Prior to checking and resetting rear wheel alignment, check tire pressure to ensure it is correct, check wheel bearings for looseness and correct as
necessary and check wheel runout with a dial indicator. Wheel runout should not exceed 0.039 inch (1.0 mm) on Celica models.
