Introduction
A new cruise control computer has been developed for the 2000 model year Celica. The new computer significantly reduces a shock feeling which may
occur when using the cruise control during a long drive. To address this condition, replace the cruise control ECU and perform the cable adjustment as
shown in this bulletin.

This repair is covered under the Toyota Basic Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the
vehicle's in-service date.
* Warranty application is limited to correction of a problem based upon a customer's specific complaint.
Repair Procedure
1.
Replace cruise control ECU. Perform the cable adjustment procedure as necessary.
2.
Confirm cable free play:
A.
Eliminate stack of inner cable by pushing it towards the actuator until it stops. While the cable is held tight, mark the position of the cable by
using tape.
