Title:
CELICA CONVERTIBLE TOP COVER WEAR
Models:
'95 - '97 Celica Convertible
Introduction
1995, 1996 and early production 1997 Celica Convertibles may display top cover chafing on the rear corners in the positions shown in Figure 1. If the
customer complains about the top cover chafing condition, please follow the procedure described.
NOTE:
By design there is a top cover fold line In the rear of the sail panel (C-pillar) area. Be careful not to confuse light marks left from the top cover
folding with those of chafe marks. Top cover chafe marks result when the outer top cover material has been damaged.
Affected Vehicles
1995, 1996 and early production 1997 model year Celica Convertibles.
Parts Information
Procedure Overview
1.
Inspect both No. 3 bow cables for the correct length. Replace if incorrect.
2.
Inspect both balance links for a yellow dot, which, if present, indicates that the balance links are correct. If the paint dot can not be seen, check for
the ASC part number E3030/1-H which also indicates that the part is correct. If the balance links are incorrect, they will require replacement.
3.
Install a new top cover assembly only if the top cover material is damaged (an indentation in the material does not necessarily indicate top cover
wear).
