Celica GT Liftback L4-2164cc 2.2L DOHC MFI (1998)
c. Using the 09950 - 60010 (09951 - 00230), 09950-70010 (09951 -07100) SST, press in the oil seal.
NOTICE: Make sure you install the oil seal facing the correct direction.
REASSEMBLY
NOTICE: When using a vise, do not overtighten it.
1. Coat the assembly with power steering fluid.
2. Install shorter straight pin.
Install a new shorter straight pin to the side front plate.
3. Install the side front plate.
a. Coat 2 new O-rings with power steering fluid and install them to the plate.
b. Install the plate to the vane pump shaft.
4. Install the vane pump rotor.
a. Install the rotor to the vane pump shaft with the inscribed mark facing outward.
b. Install a new snap ring to the vane pump shaft.
5. Install longer straight pin.
Install a new pin to the front housing.
6. Install the vane pump shaft with the vane pump rotor and the side front plate.
a. To prevent oil seal lip damage, wind vinyl tape on the shaft.
b. Align the hole of the plate and longer straight pin, and tap in the shaft with a plastic hammer.
NOTICE: Be careful not to damage the oil seal and O-rings.
