Brake Shoe: Testing and Inspection
Measure Brake Shoe Lining Thickness With Ruler
1. Using a ruler, measure the shoe lining thickness.

Standard thickness: 4.0 mm (0.157 inch)

Minimum thickness: 1.0 mm (0.039 inch)
2. If the shoe lining thickness is less than the minimum thickness or shows signs of uneven wear, replace the Brake Shoes.
NOTE: If a brake shoe needs replacing, all the Brake Shoes must be replaced as a set.
