2. Using a press, install a new dust cover to the inboard joint tulip.
3. Before installing the outboard joint boot, wrap vinyl tape around the spline of the drive shaft. to prevent damaging the two boots and damper then
temporarily install the boots and the damper (Rh drive shaft.) by doing the following.
a. Temporarily install a new outboard joint boot to the drive shaft.
b. Temporarily install the dynamic damper to the drive shaft.
c. Temporarily install a new inboard joint boot to the drive shaft.
4. Install the tripod by doing the following.
a. Place the beveled side of the tripod axial spline toward the outboard joint.
b. Align the matchmarks placed before removal.
c. Using a brass bar and hammer, tap in the tripod to the drive shaft.
NOTE: Do not tap the roller.
d. Using a snap ring expander, install a new snap ring.
5. Before assembling the boot, pack the outboard joint and boot with grease in the boot kit, then install the boot to the outboard joint.
6. Install the inboard joint tulip to the front drive shaft after doing the following.
a. Pack the inboard joint tulip and boot with grease in the boot kit.
b. Align the matchmarks placed before removal.
c. Install the inboard joint tulip to the drive shaft.
d. Temporarily install the boot to the inboard joint tulip.
7. Install the boot clamps to both boots, doing the following.
a. Make sure the two boots are on the shaft groove.
b. Make sure the drive shaft length measure to the to the standard. The drive shaft standard lengths are as follows.
Right Hand Side: 877.2 ± 5.0 mm (34.535 ± 0.197 inch).
Left Hand Side: 559.2 ± 5.0 mm (22.016 ± 0.197 inch).
c. Place the four new boot clamps to the two boots.
d. Using a screwdriver, bend the band and lock it.
8. Install the right hand drive shaft damper clamp, doing the following.
a. Make sure the damper is on the shaft groove.
