Transmission Position Switch/Sensor: Service and Repair

PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH REPLACEMENT 

1. REMOVE NO.2 ENGINE UNDER COVER

2. DISCONNECT SHIFT CABLE FROM MANUAL SHIFT LEVER
3. DISCONNECT PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH CONNECTOR
4. REMOVE PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH

Remove the nut and manual shift lever.

-

Pry off the lock plate and remove the manual valve shaft nut.

-

Remove the 2 bolts and pull out the park/neutral position switch.

5. INSTALL PARK/NEUTRAL POSITION SWITCH

-

Install the park/neutral position switch to the manual valve shaft.

-

Install a new lock plate and tighten the nut.

Torque: 12 Nm (9 ft.lb) 

-

Using a screwdriver, stake the nut with lock plate.
