1.

Remove union bolt and two washers, then disconnect brake hose from disc caliper.

2.

Drain brake fluid into a suitable container, then remove clip from brake hose and separate brake hose from bracket.

3.

On models with anti-lock Brake system (ABS), remove speed sensor wire harness clamp bracket bolt and disconnect wire harness clamp.

4.

On all models, remove lower strut assembly-to-steering knuckle attaching bolts.

5.

Remove three nuts holding top of strut assembly to body, then remove strut assembly. Cover driveshaft boot with cloth to avoid damage.

6.

Install a bolt and two nuts to assembly bracket as shown in Fig. 2, then secure assembly in a vise.

7.

Compress coil spring, using tool No. 09727-30020 or equivalent, then retain seat with tool No. 09729-22031 and remove suspension support nut.

8.

Remove suspension support, spring seat, spring, insulators and bumper.

9.

Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. When installing upper spring seat, face the ``OUT'' mark of the seat towards the outside of the vehicle.
b. Torque three strut assembly-to-body nuts and two strut assembly-to-steering knuckle bolts to specifications.
c. Pack suspension support bearing with suitable multi-purpose grease before installing dust cover.
d. Torque brake caliper bolts to specification.
