Thermal Vacuum Valve: Testing and Inspection

3A-C, 4A-C & 4A-LC Engines

1.

Drain coolant from radiator, then remove TVSV.

2.

Cool TVSV to below 45°F and apply air to uppermost port on four port side of valve. Air should flow from second port on four port side as well
as single port on opposite side of valve.

3.

Heat TVSV to 63-122°F. When air is applied to third port from top of four port side of valve, air should flow through bottom port on same side as
well as single port on opposite side of valve. When air is applied to uppermost port on four port side, air should flow through second port on same
side.

4.

Heat TVSV to above 154°F. When air is applied to third port from top of four port side, air should flow through second port from top of same side
as well as single port on opposite side of valve. When air is applied to uppermost port on four port side of valve, air should not flow through any
other ports.
