Repair Procedure

1.

Remove inner and outer front brake pads following the procedures outlined in the Technical Information System (TIS), 2003 - 2005 model year
Corolla Repair Manual:
Front Brake: Overhaul.

2.

Replace or resurface front disc rotors with the On-Car Brake Lathe according to the applicable repair manual to within serviceable limits.

Minimum Thickness: 23 mm (0.91 in.)

3.

Add anti-squeal grease to the back of each of the inner and outer replacement brake pads as shown.

4.

Install anti-squeal shim No.1 to the replacement pads and apply anti-squeal grease in the same pattern as step 3.

NOTE:

It is necessary to apply anti-squeal grease to both inner and outer brake pads.

Do not wipe off anti-squeal grease if it overflows from the slits in the anti-squeal shim.
