Introduction

Some 2005 model year Corolla and Matrix vehicles may exhibit M.I.L. "ON" DTC P0456 Evaporative Emission Control System Leak Detected (very
small leak).

This may be the result of a faulty refueling valve diaphragm located on the charcoal canister assembly. The charcoal canister manufacturing process has
been improved.

2005 model year Corolla and Matrix vehicles with 1ZZ-FE or 2ZZ-GE engines produced BEFORE the Production Change Effective VINs shown
below.

Warranty Information

Applicable Warranty*:
This repair is covered under the Toyota Federal Emission Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first,
from the vehicle's in-service date. For California specification vehicles sold, registered, and operated in California, Maine, Massachusetts, and Vermont,
this repair is covered under the California Emission Warranty, which is 36 months or 50,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service
date.
