Idle Speed: Testing and Inspection

INSPECT ENGINE IDLING SPEED

a. Warm up the engine.
b. When using the hand-held tester or OBD II scan tool.

(1) Connect the hand-held tester or OBD II scan tool to the DLC3.
(2) Turn the ignition switch to ON.
(3) Select the following menu items: DIAGNOSIS / ENHANCED OBD II / DATA LIST / PRIMARY / ENGINE SPD

Idling speed: 750 to 850 rpm

NOTICE:  Turn all the electrical systems OFF. Inspect the engine idle speed with the cooling fan OFF.
