Introduction

Some customers may experience a humming noise from some Corolla rear axles at highway speeds. The noise can be isolated to one or both of the rear
hub bearings. A replacement hub bearing is now available to improve this condition.

Repair Procedure

1.

Verify customer concern.

2.

If present, remove and replace both rear hub bearings following the procedures outlined in the Technical Information System (TIS), 2003 - 2005
model year Corolla Repair Manual: Drive Shaft/Propeller Shaft: Rear Axle Hub & Bearing Assy.
