Removal

2AZ-FE ENGINE MECHANICAL: CAMSHAFT: REMOVAL

1. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER RH

2. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY   See: Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine Assembly/Removal

3. REMOVE IGNITION COIL ASSEMBLY   See: Powertrain Management/Ignition System/Ignition Coil/Service and Repair/Removal

4. REMOVE SPARK PLUG   See: Powertrain Management/Ignition System/Ignition Coil/Service and Repair/Removal

5. REMOVE CYLINDER HEAD COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 2 ventilation hoses from the cylinder head cover sub-assembly.

(b) Remove the 2 bolts and separate the 2 wire harness brackets.

(c) Remove the 8 bolts and 2 nuts, then remove the cylinder head cover sub-assembly and gasket.

6. SET NO. 1 CYLINDER TO TDC/COMPRESSION

(a) Turn the crankshaft pulley until the groove and the timing mark "0" on the timing chain cover are aligned.
