Backup Lamp Switch: Service and Repair
Removal

E351 MANUAL TRANSMISSION / TRANSAXLE: BACK-UP LIGHT SWITCH: REMOVAL

1. REMOVE NO. 1 ENGINE COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY   See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and

Replacement/Engine Assembly/Removal

2. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CAP SUB-ASSEMBLY   See: Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Throttle Body/Service and

Repair/Removal

3. REMOVE AIR CLEANER CASE   See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Engine

Assembly/Removal

4. DISCONNECT WIRE HARNESS

(a) Disconnect the terminal 50 connector from the starter assembly.

(b) Remove the nut and disconnect the wire harness from terminal 30.

(c) Disconnect the wire harness clamp.

5. REMOVE BACK-UP LIGHT SWITCH ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the back-up light switch connector.

(b) Using SST, remove the back-up light switch and gasket from the transaxle case.
