A procedure has been developed for removal and installation of the front shock absorber on 1998 - 2001 model year Corolla vehicles due to the addition
of plate washers between the front suspension support and support nuts.

Removal
1.
Remove the front wheel.
2.
With ABS: Disconnect the ABS speed sensor wire harness clamp.
3.
Remove the bolt and disconnect the flexible hose from the shock absorber.
4.
Remove the shock absorber with coil spring.
