Inspection/Repair Procedures For SSC 312
The inspection/repair procedures of the vehicles for the Special Service Campaign should be carefully followed. Read the procedure thoroughly and take
the necessary corrective action.
I.Inspection/Repair Procedures
Step 1. Verify VIN with chart provided in Section II, on page 4 to see if vehicle falls within the affected VIN range for SSC.
a.
YES - Go to step 2.
b.
NO - No further action necessary. Vehicle is not affected by this SSC.
Step 2. Verify alternator lot number with chart provided in Section II on page 4. Alternator lot number can be checked while on the vehicle for all
models except Cressida and Supra where alternator must be removed. (Refer to Section III, Alternator Removal Procedure)
a.
YES - Go to step 3.
b.
NO - On Cressida and Supra model, reinstall alternator, (Refer to Section VI Alternator Installation Procedure) perform alternator output test
(refer to Section VII Test Procedure). Affix SSC completion label on the left front door post near factory ID plate. (See step 7 for details) No
further action necessary. SSC completed.
Note:
Reset radio and clock.
