Wheel Cylinder: Service and Repair

Rear Brake Components

REMOVAL

1. Remove rear wheel.
2. Remove brake Drum, brake shoes and hardware.
3. Remove Wheel Cylinder.

Disconnecting Brake Line Using SST

4. Using SST 09751-36011, disconnect the brake line. Use a container to catch the brake fluid.

-

Torque: 15 Nm (11 ft. lbs.)

5. Remove the 2 bolts and the Wheel Cylinder.

-

Torque: 10 Nm (7 ft. lbs.)

6. Overhaul if necessary.

Overhaul
1. Remove the following parts from Wheel Cylinder:

-

2 boots.

-

2 pistons.

-

2 piston cups.

-

Spring.

2. Assemble in reverse order.
