Vacuum Brake Booster: Service and Repair

Brake Booster Components

REMOVAL

1. Remove Master Cylinder. 
2. Disconnect vacuum hose from Brake Booster.
3. Remove pedal return spring.
4. Remove clip and clevis pin.
5. Remove resonator from air hose.
6. Remove Charcoal Canister.

(a) Disconnect the 2 hoses.
(b) Remove the 2 bolts and Charcoal Canister.

7. Remove Brake Booster.

Removing Nuts And Clevis

(a) Remove the 4 nuts and clevis.
(b) Pull out the Brake Booster and gasket.

INSTALLATION

1. Install Brake Booster.

(a) Install the Booster and a new gasket.
(b) Install the 2 bolts and Charcoal Canister.
(c) Connect the 2 hoses.
(d) Install the clevis to the operating rod.
