Throttle Position Switch: Adjustments

1. Start the engine and warm-up to normal operating temperature.
2. Disconnect the TP switch terminal.
3. Connect an ohmmeter across the switch terminal and a good ground. Fig. 22
4. Slowly raise the engine speed.
5. Note the rpm when the ohmmeter just indicates continuity.

Setting speed: 1,800 rpm 

6. If not as specified, adjust the setting speed using the throttle position switch adjusting screw. Fig. 23
7. Make all adjustments with the cooling fan OFF.
8. Disconnect the ohmmeter.
