Campaign - Rear Shock Torque Verification

1988 COROLLA FX 3-DOOR DELUXE MODELS
As indicated in our previous letter of July 25, 1988, it is necessary to verify the tightening specification of the two left rear shock absorber nuts on the
subject vehicles.
According to our records, the vehicles on the attached list are involved at your dealership. Should any of these vehicles have been sold, the owners are to
be contacted by dealership personnel and arrangements made to verify the specification.
The verification procedure and reimbursement details are on the reverse of this letter.

VERIFICATION PROCEDURE
1.
RAISE THE REAR OF THE VEHICLE AND
SUPPORT THE BODY WITH STANDS.
(The vehicle may be raised on a hoist if one is available)
2.
REMOVE THE LEFT REAR WHEEL.
3.
TORQUE THE TWO LEFT REAR SHOCK
ABSORBER TO AXLE CARRIER NUTS (REAR)
WHILE HOLDING THE BOLTS (FRONT)
WITH A BOX WRENCH.
Torque:
1450 kg/sq.cm (105 ft.lbs.)
