Valve Clearance: Adjustments

Valves are adjusted by use of an adjustment screw and locknut. With engine at operating temperature, intake valve clearance should be .008 inch and
exhaust clearance should be .012 inch.

1.

Crank engine until No. 1 cylinder is at TDC compression stroke and adjust cylinder No. 1 and cylinder No. 2 intake valves, then exhaust in
numbers 1 and 3.

2.

Rotate engine one complete revolution clockwise and adjust cylinder No. 3 and cylinder No. 4 intake valves, then exhaust in numbers 2 and 4.
