Remove rear caliper, refer to "Caliper, Replace" procedure.

Remove rotor disc, Fig. 23.

Remove shoe return springs using a suitable tool, then the shoe strut and spring.

Slide out front shoe, then remove shoe adjusting screw.

6.

Remove tension spring and front shoe.

7.

Slide out rear shoe, then disconnect parking brake cable from parking brake shoe lever.

8.

Measure brake drum inside diameter. Maximum inside diameter should be 6.61 inch.

9.

Measure brake shoe lining thickness. Minimum thickness should be .039 inch. If lining is less than minimum, replace brake shoes.

Measure clearance between parking brake shoe and lever, Fig. 24. If clearance is greater than .0138 inch, replace shim to obtain correct clearance.

Apply suitable grease to the backing plate, adjusting screw and sliding surfaces of the shoe.
