Vehicle Speed Sensor Signal: Testing and Inspection

On analog meters, proceed as follows: 

a. Remove combination meter.

b. Connect a suitable ohmmeter between terminals SPD (+) and SPD ( - ), Fig. 27.
c. Revolve meter shaft, then check that indicator repeatedly deflects from zero to infinity.

2.

On digital meters, proceed as follows: 

a. Remove combination meter with connecting wiring harness.
b. Turn ignition switch ``On.''

c. Connect a suitable voltmeter between SPD and GND, Fig. 28.
d. Revolve meter shaft, then check that indicator repeatedly deflects from 0-2 volts.
