lower the cage to the inboard side and remove the balls. Remove outer snap ring with snap ring pliers and press outboard joint inner race from axle
shaft with suitable press.

Remove outboard joint inner snap ring, then remove inboard and outboard joint boots.

7.

Using a screwdriver, remove inboard joint end cover.

8.

Scribe alignment marks on inboard joint and axle shaft, then remove snap ring.

9.

Using a suitable press, remove inboard joint from driveshaft.

Assembly

1.

Position new boots and boot clamps on axle shaft. When installing boots on axle shaft, tape axle splines to prevent damage to boots.

2.

Install new snap ring on outboard joint inner spline, then place inner race cage on axle shaft. The larger diameter end of the joint inner cage
should face the outboard side.

3.

Align scribe marks made previously on inner race and axle shaft, then using a press and suitable socket, install inner race on axle shaft. Install snap
ring.

4.

Lubricate inner race, cage and balls with lubricant supplied in kit. Position inner race cage over inner race and tap balls into place with a soft faced
hammer.

5.

Install inboard joint inner snap ring, then align scribe marks made previously on inboard joint and axle shaft. Using a suitable socket and press,
install inboard joint on axle. Install inboard joint outer snap ring.

6.

Pack .13 lbs. (60 gr.) of lubricant supplied with repair kit into flange side of joint.

7.

Apply suitable seal packing around inboard side of end cover, then place in position. Tap end cover in joint with hammer.

8.

Lubricate outboard bearing outer race with .13 lbs. (60 gr.) of lubricant supplied in kit, then install outer race and secure with large snap ring.

9.

Lubricate inboard and outboard boots with .13 lbs. (60 gr.) each of lubricant supplied with kit.

10.

Lubricate inboard joint with .13 lbs. (60 gr.) of lubricant supplied with kit.

11.

Install boots and secure with clamps. Position clamp locks between flange bolt holes.

12.

Turn and stretch boots to ensure they do not deform.

Installation

1.

Install axle shaft with narrow joint at differential side.

2.

Install nuts and torque to 44-57 ft. lbs.
