REPAIR PROCEDURE:
To reduce electrical motor static noise on vehicles produced before February 22, 1989, use the following procedure:
1.
Operate the power mirrors while listening to the audio system to confirm that the electric motor static noise is caused by power mirror operation.
2.
Remove inner door panel and speaker from both front doors. Repeat steps 3 through 6 for both doors.
3.
Carefully pull back waterproofing plastic to uncover front service hole and locate power mirror wire harness connector. (see figure 1)
4.
Unplug the connector and insert the Noise Filter (90980-05164) in-line.

Tape down the Noise Filter to the female wire harness connector with electrical tape (wrap around both Noise Filter and connector twice) and
secure the filter With a plastic tie clamp. (see figure 2)
