Ignition Coil: Testing and Inspection

Disconnect wire connector at ignition coil.

Connect one end of an ohmmeter to the (-) side of the ignition coil. Connect the other end to the (+) side of the ignition coil.

Ignition Coil, Primary Testing

Primary Resistance (Cold):

0.24 - 0.30 ohms

Connect one end of an ohmmeter to the high tension terminal of the ignition coil. Connect the other end of the ohmmeter to the (+) side of the
ignition coil.

Secondary Coil Testing

Secondary Resistance (Cold):

9.2k - 12.4k ohms

If Primary and Secondary coil resistance value is not within specifications, replace ignition coil. For further information refer to SPARK TEST.
