1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:  Wait for at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag from working. 

2. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH 
3. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH
4. REMOVE FRONT FLOOR FOOTREST
5. REMOVE FOOTREST CLIP
6. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD RH
7. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM BOARD LH

8. SEPARATE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP RH 

a. Remove the front door opening trim weatherstrip to the extent that the front pillar garnish and the instrument panel lower finish panel can be

removed.

9. SEPARATE FRONT DOOR OPENING TRIM WEATHERSTRIP LH

HINT:  Use the same procedure as for the RH side.

10. REMOVE ASSIST GRIP PLUG

HINT:  Use the same procedure to remove all the assist grip plugs.

a. Using a screwdriver with its tip wrapped in protective tape, disengage the 2 claws and remove the assist grip plug.
