Headlamp Washer Motor: Testing and Inspection
ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION
1. WASHER MOTOR
a. Operation Check
1. Pour the water into the washer jar with the washer motor and the pump installed to the washer jar assembly.
2. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 2 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 1, check that the water comes out from the
washer jar.
3. Connect the positive (+) lead from the battery to terminal 2 and the negative (-) lead to terminal 3, check that the water comes out from the
washer jar.
NOTE: These tests must be performed quickly (within 20 seconds) to prevent the coil from burning out.
2. LEVEL WARNING SWITCH ASSEMBLY
a. Check washer level warning switch continuity.
b. Check that no continuity exists between terminals with switch OFF (float up).
c. Check that continuity exists between terminals with switch OFF (float down).
